These surcharges apply only during the peak season, e.g. during the pre-Christmas period. These surcharges are tied to the specifications for surcharges for additional handling (see below). These specifications were changed by UPS last year and apply from 01.10.2023 starting from 25 kg and not as before from 32 kg. Attention: 18er cartons are affected! A fee for additional handling is charged for each package that requires special handling. This is determined by UPS at its discretion, including but not limited to:

A package is considered a "large package" if the total measurement 300 cm in length plus circumference [Circumference = (2 x Width) + (2 x Height)] exceeds, but is under the maximum UPS measurement of 400 cm. Large packages are subject to a minimum weight charge of 40 kg. Additionally, a surcharge for large packages is applied.

Packages weighing more than 70 kg or with a length of over 274 cm or total dimensions of more than 400 cm in length and circumference [(2 x Width) + (2 x Height)] will not be accepted for shipping. However, shipments found in the UPS package system will be charged a surcharge. For packages whose length and circumference combined exceed 400 cm, the large package surcharge will also be applied.
