From 01/10/2023 to 14/01/2024 UPS will be introducing Peak or Demand surcharges. These are tied to the surcharge specifications for additional handling (see below). These specifications were changed unilaterally by UPS at short notice this year and apply from 01.10.2023 from 25 kg and not from 32 kg as previously. Attention: 18 kg cardboard boxes are affected! An Additional Handling charge will be assessed for each package requiring special handling. This will be determined by UPS at its sole discretion, including but not limited to:

A parcel is considered a "large parcel" if the total dimension exceeds 300 cm in length plus circumference [circumference = (2 x width) + (2 x height)], but is less than the maximum UPS dimension of 400 cm. Large packages are subject to a minimum chargeable weight of 40 kg. In addition, a surcharge will be levied for large parcels.

Packages with a weight of more than 70 kg or a length of more than 274 cm or total dimensions of more than 400 cm in length and circumference [(2 x width) + (2 x height)] will not be accepted for shipment. Nevertheless, shipments found in the UPS parcel system will be charged with a surcharge. For parcels whose combined length and circumference exceed 400 cm, the large parcel surcharge will be added.
